December 14, 2016 Some of the guests visiting the Southwest Regional Library for their Special Polar Express Evening. The "Polar Express Passenger Train" was operating on the "O" Scale Layout in the MultiPurpose Room. The event started at 6:00 PM and continued until 8:00 PM. Many of the children were dressed in their PJ's. The Polar Express Story was presented to the children, followed by Hot Chocolate and a visit with Santa Claus. Then it was into the Model Train Display where "O", "HO", "G" & "S" Scale trains were operated for our Guests. The children were allowed to operate some "HO" & "S" Scale Trains on the stage area of the room. It was a great night for the whole family. The Florida Citrus Model Train Society members participating were: Ken Sargeant, Saralyn Sargeant, Peter Colussy, Kathy Colussy, Joe Motes, Tom Rottenberg, Dan McMurtrie, Bill Nielsen, Joe Pisciotti, Luis Figueroa, Joe Parisini, John Michna, Kieve Uhrlich (13)
A new record for One Day was set with 1,171 visitors. We had 558 guests during our regular Daytime Event. That was followed by 613 guests for the Polar Express Evening Event 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
