About the Florida Citrus Model Train Society
The Florida Citrus Model Train Society is a South Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the history, craftsmanship, and enjoyment of model railroading with the public. Through its collection of modular layouts and operating train displays, the Society creates engaging miniature worlds that showcase the artistry, detail, and technical skill behind the hobby.
With a particular emphasis on families and younger visitors, the Society works to make model railroading accessible, educational, and fun for audiences of all ages. Its members regularly bring their layouts to community venues and special events, offering visitors an opportunity to experience different scales of model railroading while learning about trains, railroads, and the traditions that have made the hobby a lasting source of fascination.
The Society is also built around community, friendship, and a shared passion for trains. Its members volunteer their time to create and operate public displays, introducing new generations to the hobby while preserving the enthusiasm of longtime model railroaders. Through exhibitions such as Railways & Reveries: Imagination in Motion, the Florida Citrus Model Train Society continues its mission of bringing the wonder of model trains to the broader community and inviting everyone to discover the creativity, history, and imagination found along the rails.
